Sustainable Fishing Methods
100% Wild Caught, and Hand Selected.

To ensure the generations to come can delight in the taste of Brolos lobsters there are limits as to the number caught each year. Lobsters that are too small will be returned to sea, records are taken of the number of baby lobsters on the reef as well as the number of breeding females.

This form of sustainable fishing has two distinct benefits. The impact on the environment is reduced and only the best of the best are brought in.

100% Wild Caught

Brolos Rock Lobsters are wild caught using sustainable fishing methods.

At the Geraldton Fishermen’s Co-operative there is no cultivating of lobsters at all. All Brolos lobsters are 100% wild caught from the Indian Ocean, fresh every day, 365 days of the year using sustainable fishing methods.

The lobsters dwell in the corals, at depths of 30 to 250 meters. Their diet consists mainly of small marine creatures that is also drawn to these areas and marine plants.
