The Start of the Journey

 

Brolos lobsters are wild caught 365 days a year from the pristine, crystal clear waters of the Indian Ocean off the coast of Western Australia, from north of Geraldton in Western Australia’s mid west to south of Fremantle, near the capital, Perth. The Brolos Rock lobster, dwells in the coral feeding off other small marine like creatures and plants that also call this area home.

On Board Health Check

 

As soon as the lobster pots are retrieved, the lobsters are given an on board “health check”. The highly experienced fishermen inspect each and every lobster for quality and strength.   The “health check” includes checking on numbers of legs, length of feelers, size/weight and even energy.  Any lobsters which are not able to satisfy the high quality standards are returned to the water as are those that are too young, or breeding female lobsters.

Sea to Shore

 

Lobsters that have passed the ‘health check’ are quickly placed in a fine mesh basket and then put below deck into seawater tanks that maintain an environment very similar to the lobsters ocean home. This process is carried out quickly and efficiently to reduce the amount of time that the lobster is exposed to things such as ambient temperature, wind etc.

Shipped Live from Australia.

 

All the lobsters are shipped live to China the day after they are caught.  There is a dedicated quality assurance team to monitor and care for each Brolos lobster.  Before packing your order, Brolos lobsters are cooled slightly to slow down their metabolism and relax them for the journey. This helps ensure they sleep soundly.

 

The lobsters travel in specially designed foam containers packed with wood wool, which helps to insulate against any disturbances and with the ice packs to maintain a steady temperature. Mesh netting is placed over the Brolos lobster to further prevent further injury during transportation and make it easier for you to handle at home.

The last mile of the lobster journey

 

Once order placed over Brolos.JD.com and T-Mall, other e-commerce platforms which will be activated soon, Brolos lobsters will be couriered over to your home through SF Express’ renowned cold chain logistics, making sure that the lobsters are alive and fresh during the last mile of their journey.

 

Upon receipt, please keep your Brolos lobster in fridge (0-5 degrees), if you won’t prepare your favourite lobster dish immediately. For the best taste, we suggest you prepare your Brolos lobster within 4 – 6 hours of delivery.
